Adopt a Watershed
Support Clean Water, One Watershed at a Time
The Yadkin River is made up of hundreds of smaller watersheds, streams, creeks, and tributaries, each playing a vital role in the overall health of the river system. Through our Adopt-a-Watershed program, individuals, families, businesses, and organizations can take an active role in protecting these local waterways.
For an annual contribution of $250, your adoption supports on-the-ground conservation efforts, including water quality monitoring, pollution response, community cleanups, and advocacy for stronger protections.
When you adopt a watershed, you’ll receive:
- Recognition on our Adopt-a-Watershed map on Yadkin Riverkeeper’s website
- An exclusive decal to proudly display your Commitment to clean water
- A welcome mention in our monthly e-newsletter
- Occasional spotlights in our newsletter showcasing adopter stories and impact

Swim Guide Sponsorship
Yadkin Riverkeeper monitors popular swimming sites in the Yadkin River Basin from Memorial Day to Labor Day. Each Wednesday, we take samples to test for E. Coli, following the EPA standard of 235 colonies per 100 ml, as measured by the IDEXX Quanti-Tray system. Results are published every Thursday to ensure the safety of our community.
How You Can Help
