Champions

of the River

Yadkin Riverkeeper serves the public by acting as champions for the river and the communities that cherish it. Our unwavering goal is to safeguard your waters with diligence and dedication. Achieving this requires the active involvement of people like you.

Our initiatives include regular patrols of the basin’s waterways, reporting violations of local, state, and federal water quality standards, and conducting comprehensive water testing to detect contaminants. The results are transparently shared with the public through programs such as Swim Guide.

Additionally, we engage with elected officials and government agencies to educate them on the river’s challenges and work together to develop enhanced protections for our waterways. By monitoring and responding to citizen reports on water quality issues, we aim to foster a community-driven approach to river stewardship.
